BBC Breakfast presenter Lewis Vaughan Jones, a familiar face on British television, is married to former CNN International and Sky News journalist Hannah Vaughan Jones. The couple, who tied the knot in 2015, live in Twickenham, south-west London with their son Sonny, born in December 2019.

Career and Background

Lewis Vaughan Jones, 45, grew up in Penarth in the Vale of Glamorgan and attended Stanwell School. He studied Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at Oxford University's Keble College. He began his career at ITV News before becoming a presenter for BBC News and BBC World News. He made his BBC Breakfast debut in April 2026, appearing on the iconic red sofa alongside Rachel Burden, and returned on July 19, 2026, co-hosting with Luxmy Gopal.

IVF Journey

The couple's son Sonny was conceived after 15 rounds of IVF treatment. Lewis previously told the BBC: "We had zero hope... emotionally, we had already moved on. We'd tried so many times, and statistically it was so unlikely to work. And that's why we absolutely couldn't believe it when the very last embryo was the one that worked." Hannah encouraged others to share their fertility struggles, saying: "I encourage people, even if they're naturally quite shy, to talk to someone, even if it's a stranger or the wonderful online community... to just understand that you're not alone and there is support out there."
