Yorkshire Vet's Rambo dies after episode airs

The Yorkshire Vet star Peter Wright has shared the heartbreaking news that Rambo, a beloved Boston Terrier featured on the Channel 5 show, has passed away after his episode aired.

The official Channel 5 show account posted on Instagram to share the devastating news that following last night's episode (August 20), much-loved dog Rambo had passed away. Rambo died in July 2025, but his episode had only just been broadcast. The Boston terrier belonged to Kevin and Carol, who featured on the programme with Peter.

Rambo's final days

It was revealed today (August 21): "Thanks for watching last night everyone and for all your kind comments. Sadly, the lovely Rambo has passed away since we filmed the episode. But he enjoyed a fantastic life with Kevin and Carol, who spoilt him until the end.

"Rambo will never be forgotten and now has a plaque at the Memorial Garden in Thirsk. And congratulations to Nurse Chloe for 'Braving the Shave' to raise money for Prostate Cancer Research. And to Peter, our very own Vidal Sassoon... of buzz cuts!".

"Have a great weekend, and we'll have another new episode for you at 8pm next Thursday."

Heartfelt tributes from viewers

Rambo had been taken to the Sandbeck Veterinary Centre after displaying blood in his mouth and swelling around his face. Tragically an inoperable growth was discovered at the back of his mouth, and his owners were told to keep him as comfortable as possible for as long as they could.

His owner Carol said: "You know that you're not going to have your dog forever, but it's still so hard. But I think you've got to think about the life that you gave them. And he's had a lovely life, and he's made our lives nicer, he really has."

"So, we're just gonna let him enjoy his life like he always has done."

Sympathetic messages poured in from viewers, with one writing: "Love watching you, sad about Rambo but he was well loved." Another commented: "I know how they are feeling, lost my boy 5 weeks ago to a mass." A third added: "Kevin and Carol were the best, lovely owners."
