A competition is offering a family weekend in Newcastle Upon Tyne, including tickets to Disney On Ice, a four-star hotel stay, dining, and shopping vouchers. The prize package covers Friday November 13 to Sunday November 15, 2026.
Travel and Accommodation
Return travel to Newcastle is provided by Lumo, with departures from London King’s Cross, Stevenage, Morpeth, Edinburgh Waverley, Haymarket, Falkirk and Glasgow Central. The trains are 100% electric and offer WiFi, legroom and customer service.
The Maldron Hotel, a contemporary four-star property in the city centre, will be the base for the weekend. It offers family rooms, an onsite restaurant and a central location.
Dining and Entertainment
Friday evening includes a Thai meal for four at Chaophraya, located on the top floor of Eldon Square shopping centre with a rooftop terrace overlooking Grey’s Monument and Grey Street. The meal includes soft drinks and a bottle of house wine.
On Saturday, the family can skate at the outdoor ice rink in Times Square, visit the Great Dinosaur Escape at the Life Science Centre, watch the 360° full dome show What Santa Sees in the planetarium, and enjoy festive crafts. A £50 voucher for the cafe or gift shop is also included.
Saturday afternoon features front row seats for the 2.30 pm performance of Disney On Ice presents Discover the Magic at the Utilita Arena Newcastle. The show includes moments from Moana, Frozen, Encanto, Toy Story, Coco, Aladdin and Stitch. Pre-show hospitality worth £50 is provided.
Saturday evening dinner is at Dabbawal High Bridge, offering authentic Indian home cooking in retro Mumbai-inspired surroundings. Soft drinks are included and a children’s menu is available.
Shopping and Sunday Lunch
Sunday includes a £200 Eldon Square voucher for shopping, followed by Sunday lunch at Freight Island from noon. The package includes a meal for four with drinks, with access to ten kitchens, three bars, a Play Den and a kids’ cinema.
