White vans have been transformed into England artwork as the Three Lions launch their World Cup bid. Street artist Nacho Welles was brought in to turn tradies' white vans into canvasses for some England-themed artwork, depicting Harry Kane and 1966 skipper Bobby Moore lifting the World Cup.
Reverse-Graffiti Artwork on White Vans
Artist Nacho Welles created reverse-graffiti artwork on white vans. Tradies now have the chance to show their backing for England's World Cup bid by transforming their white vans into canvases. Street artist Nacho Welles has been brought in to daub the work vehicles with Three Lions-inspired artwork, featuring Harry Kane and Bobby Moore.
The likeness of Kane and Moore lifting the trophy back in 1966 featured alongside the iconic Three Lions motif, transforming the grime on customers' vans into art. The stunt took place at Selco's Charlton store, and the same location is also giving customers the chance to have their vans daubed in the same way.
Free Graffiti for Customers
Customers can show their support for Thomas Tuchel's boys, with free graffiti available between 10am and 2pm today (Wednesday June 17). England kick off their World Cup campaign on Wednesday evening against Croatia in Dallas' AT&T Stadium, before further Group L games against Ghana and Panama over the next 10 days.
Customers can get their vans decorated for free. But in a blow to Tuchel's preparations, defender Tino Livramento was ruled out of the tournament on Tuesday after picking up an injury in training. Chelsea's Trevoh Chalobah has received the call from the German to join up with the squad as a replacement.
England's World Cup Journey
The Three Lions reached the quarter-finals of the last World Cup in Qatar and have been beaten finalists in the last two Euros finals under Gareth Southgate. But the FA have thrown a Hail Mary at this year's tournament in North America by giving their backing to serial winner Tuchel.
