Gordon Maybury, site manager at Cala’s Pinefields development in Livingston, West Lothian, has been awarded a prestigious Pride in the Job award from the National Home Building Council (NHBC). The accolade recognizes outstanding achievements in the housebuilding industry.
Prestigious Industry Recognition
The annual Pride in the Job awards, now in their 46th year, are widely regarded as the 'Oscars' of the housebuilding sector. Run by the NHBC, the UK’s largest provider of new home warranties and insurance, the awards celebrate outstanding work and commitment to ensuring the highest quality across the industry.
Judging is rigorous, with assessments across six key areas: consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise, and health and safety. Thousands of inspections, with meticulous scoring and detailed verifications, determined 449 winners from a field of approximately 7,500 site managers, representing the very best in the UK.
Next Stage: Seal of Excellence
Gordon will now proceed to the Seal of Excellence stage of the awards. Regional winners from this stage become eligible to compete for the national Supreme award title later this year.
Upon receiving the award, Gordon said: “I’m exceptionally proud to receive this recognition. Building high-quality homes is a team effort, and the Pride in the Job award aptly reflects the hard work, dedication and attention to detail shown by everyone involved at our Pinefields development every day.”
Leadership Praise
Craig Lynes, Managing Director at Cala Homes (East), added: “Congratulations to Gordon in this year’s Pride in the Job Quality Awards. This is a highly regarded accolade which is testament to the hard work carried out every day, ensuring our site and its teams, including our subcontractor partners, achieve the highest standards for our customers and communities.”
