The UK's Eurovision 2026 entry has been dealt a major blow just hours before the live final in Vienna, with bookmakers offering odds of 100/1 for victory. Sam Battle, known as Look Mum No Computer, will perform his song 'Eins, Zwei Drei' on Saturday night, but experts say an uphill battle awaits.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BOYLE Sports, said: 'Eurovision wouldn’t be Eurovision without the UK arriving with big dreams, bold staging and a loyal fan base hoping this might finally be their year. But the latest odds suggest the UK faces a real uphill battle, which will take some of the shine off Sam Battle’s chances.'
The odds of a top 10 finish stand at 11/2, while a top 5 spot is priced at 40/1. Lyons added: 'At 11/2 to make the top 10, there’s still a route to a respectable finish if the performance lands, but 100/1 to win tells its own story.'
Battle has faced significant backlash after his semi-final performance, where he wore a pink boiler suit and ended up in a cardboard box. One viewer wrote on X: 'Just when you think it’s absolutely impossible to get any worse the UK entry has done it yet again! Absolute trash. Nil points!' Another said: 'Why does the UK do so badly at Eurovision. LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER is another car crash of a performance.'
However, some defended the act, with one fan commenting: 'I thought the UK Eurovision staging was brilliant. It’s not a radio friendly song, but it sticks in your head because it’s so catchy.' The UK has won Eurovision five times since 1956, but recent entries have struggled, with last year's contestant Remember Monday placing 19th.
