UK Corrections: Desalination, Slade, Beckett Notebooks
UK Corrections: Desalination, Slade, Beckett

Several corrections have been issued for articles published on 15 August. An article about Thames Water’s desalination plant stated that the UK’s only such facility was in Beckton, east London. In fact, there is also a desalination plant in the Isles of Scilly.

Image and Quote Errors

An image captioned as “the mod look in 1975” actually showed the band Slade from behind during their skinhead phase in 1970. This error appeared in print only.

A piece about writer Samuel Beckett quoted two entries from his notebooks in German. These entries had actually been written in English.
