Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald are coming back to Cardiff's Principality Stadium and they are bringing their beloved The Circus Tour with them.

Take That first toured the famously flamboyant and colourful show back in 2009 and now, as a trio, they're bringing it back for 2026 - bigger, better and more bombastic - read the reviews of previous shows, here. They are at Cardiff's Principality Stadium today, Tuesday, June 16.

The two-hour extravaganza of circus performance, dancing and singing includes everything from trapeze artists, tight-rope walkers and of course that magical 30ft animatronic elephant that walks through the crowds during the band's performance of The Garden.

We will be bringing you all the up-to-date stadium news, where the band are currently doing soundchecks, travel updates as the roads into Cardiff will get busy and more from the city centre ahead of the gig - where doors open at 5pm.

Important Road Closures News

From 7am, Scott Road and Park Street - which are right by the stadium - will be closed because of the need to prepare Gate 5 and protect queuing fans.

For all the concerts, the following roads will be closed as part of the full city centre road closure which will take place at 3pm until midnight.

  • Kingsway from its junction with North Road to its junction with Duke Street.
  • Cowbridge Road East from its junction with Cathedral Road to its junction with Westgate Street.
  • Tudor Street from its junction with Clare Road to its junction with Wood Street (access for residents and traders will be permitted via Fitzhammon Embankment).
  • Plantagenet Street and Beauchamp Street from their junctions with Despenser Place to their junctions with Tudor Street (access for residents and traders will be permitted).

The following roads will be closed in their entirety: Duke Street, Castle St, High Street, St Mary Street, Caroline Street, Wood Street, Central Square, Westgate Street, Quay Street, Guildhall Place, Golate, Park Street, Havelock Street and Scott Road.

Station Terrace and Guildford Street from the junction with Newport Road to the junction with Churchill Way will be access for buses only during the times of the road closures. This is to ensure that there is reliable access for buses to the satellite points in Churchill Way.

Additionally, Penarth Road will be closed 30 minutes before the concerts finish and for up to an hour after they finish, on safety grounds - for train passengers arriving and departing from the train station.

Station Terrace will also close for a short period to allow Queen Street Station to operate safely for 1 hour 30 mins after the end of the event (approx. 10.15pm – 11.45pm).

Additions: Civic Centre: Access to part of the Civic Centre will be controlled throughout the day, with access allowed only for event parking, limited commuter parking, loading and access to private car parks.

Important Information About Taking Bags Into the Stadium

With many of the Take That fans being of a certain age - no judgement, this writer is exactly that age - preparations for this gig will have been set in stone and managed to the nth degree yonks ago. But, just in case you need a reminder on what you can take in, bag-wise, we've got you covered.

While the stadium advises it's better not to bring a bag at all, you will be permitted to take small bags and handbags in with you. Small bags are classed as no larger than 35cm x 40cm x 19cm or standard handbags. There are no bag storage facilities available at the stadium. Also, large bags are not permitted.

Have a Lot of Patience - These Fans Certainly Do

Call yourself a Take That fan if you're sat at home right now drinking tea? These super-fans have been camping out at the stadium gates since yesterday. That's dedication. While doors open at 5pm this afternoon, for some fans ensuring they are stood at the barrier is worth missing out on a few extra hours of sleep.

The outside of the Principality Stadium has turned into a small campsite. Instead, they choose to spend almost 36 hours chatting and camping outside the stadium, spending time with long lost friends they have made while following the band around the country. Fans from Edinburgh and Swindon are already at the gates.

Good Morning! Today This Could Be the GREATEST DAY!
