Strictly Come Dancing's 2026 cast is being announced early this year, marking a new era for the show. With new hosts and dancers, the BBC has started revealing celebrity names a month earlier than usual, for reasons yet unclear.
Confirmed Celebrities for Strictly 2026
The first confirmed celebrity is Lacey Turner, known for her role as Stacey Slater on EastEnders. She will take to the dance floor when the show returns in September, following a well-trodden path from Albert Square to Saturday night foxtrots. Bookies have already marked her as the star to beat.
Dani Dyer is returning after being forced off last year's Strictly with a fractured ankle. She was replaced by Amber Davies but is determined to perform this year. She said: "I just cannot wait to get my dancing shoes back on and hopefully this time around I can actually make it to week one!"
Delta Goodrem, who has done Eurovision and judged The Voice Australia, will be spending the run-up to Christmas in Elstree. She said she was "extremely honoured" and noted that the ballroom floor is one stage she has never stepped onto.
Rumoured Names for Strictly 2026
Beyond the official announcements, several celebrities are hotly tipped to join the cast. Jeff Brazier, father of Strictly runner-up Bobby Brazier, has reportedly been tempted and received his son's blessing to perform.
Dame Sarah Storey, the most decorated Paralympian ever, is said to be joining, following a tradition of top Paralympians on the show. A source told The Sun: "She is obviously very competitive."
Jake Quickenden, newly-single after splitting from wife Sophie Church, has been tipped for Strictly after appearing on X Factor, Dancing on Ice, and I'm A Celeb.
The full line-up is expected before the month ends.
