Skins star Megan Prescott: OnlyFans pays more than E4 show

Megan Prescott has revealed that she earns more on OnlyFans than she ever did when she starred on Skins. The actress, 35, found fame when she was cast as Katie Fitch in the E4 drama in 2009, and has since gone on to appear in episodes of Silent Witness, Doctors and EastEnders.

Almost 20 years after landing her signature role, Megan has turned to selling racy content after struggling to get another big break in acting and was eventually left with just £300 in her bank account.

Struggles and a turning point

She said: "I'd spent so many years in acting, trying to get things moving and nothing [was] happening. Going on OnlyFans and realising all this content that I was making for free, people would pay for and would like to pay for, just changed my entire point of view and it really did improve my creative outputs."

Just before the onset of the COVID-19 lockdowns, Megan had been on a zero-hours contract and was inspired to sign up for OnlyFans when racy footage of herself in Skins started to circulate online.

Creative freedom and advice to actors

Thanks to the stream of income generated by OnlyFans, Megan was able to write and star in the play Really Good Exposure, which ran at the Soho Theatre in September last year, something she insisted she would "never" have been able to do without her platform.

When asked whether she felt that other actors judge those who turn to OnlyFans, she admitted that is often the case but ultimately urged those in the industry to consider trying it. Speaking to The Sun, she added: "I do think I sometimes get that vibe, especially from – I'm going to sound like a d**k – but from mainstream actors, I do sometimes get the feeling that they wish they could have the freedom that I do – to choose what I create and choose what I say on OnlyFans. Mainstream acting, you aren't anywhere near as free to make your own decisions."

"Unless you're Brad Pitt! Guys, come over to this side. It's so much more fun. You get to do so many more interesting things and no one's telling you what you can and can't do!"

Subscription details and fellow actress

Megan currently charges her subscribers $14.99 per month for access to her content, and promises perks such as "free weekly rewards" when auto-renew is kept on. The bio on her page reads: "Serving you a fantasy and giving you the premium content you so desperately desire. Personalised/custom content available on request."

Megan's admissions come just days after her fellow actress Jessie Cave explained that she had also found huge financial success through OnlyFans. Jessie, 39, was cast in the sixth Harry Potter film and went on to appear in the final two instalments of the series. She then became known for her regular roles in series such as Trollied, Black Mirror and Miss Scarlet and The Duke. In Harry Potter, Jessie appeared alongside Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, all of whom became multi-millionaires after taking on the leading roles of Harry, Ron and Hermione.

In recent years, Jessie, who is engaged to comedian Alfie Brown and has four children with him, was left increasingly worried when work dried up, so opted to develop a page where she can show off her long locks to those who have a hair fetish. She told The Times: "I had a breakdown and I thought, that's it with acting, I give up. But also we have no money. I thought I'd make five grand, be on it for a few months and it would buy me time to work out what we're going to do. But it's now been over a year and a half and it's genuinely saved our lives."
