Rangers and Celtic have been hit with complete stadium closures for their next Scottish Cup home game after the chaos that followed last season's derby at Ibrox. Each club has also been ordered to pay the relevant away team £100,000 to cover lost revenue.
Disciplinary panel verdict
Both clubs had been hauled in front of a disciplinary panel after the violent scenes that followed the Scottish Cup quarter-final between the two sides at Ibrox in March. Fans from both ends invaded the pitch after Celtic's penalty shootout victory, prompting an SFA investigation that resulted in charges for both clubs after a 37-page independent review was released.
Hearings and outcome
Celtic pleaded their case 11 days ago, with the results withheld until Rangers found out their fate last night. The Ibrox side's hearing was delayed due to their Europa League qualifier with Jagiellonia Bialystok.
Both verdicts have now been released, with both clubs told they will not have any fans – home or away – the next time they are at home in the tournament.
