Princess Kate's Midnight Cake Tradition for Her Children
Princess Kate's Midnight Cake Tradition for Kids

Princess Catherine balances motherhood with royal duties, even staying up until midnight to bake her children's birthday cakes. The tradition was revealed during the 2019 edition of Mary Berry's A Berry Royal Christmas.

A Sweet Family Tradition

On the show, Catherine said: “I love making the cake. It’s become a bit of a tradition that I stay up until midnight with ridiculous amounts of cake mix and icing, and I make far too much. But I love it.”

Her children have repaid the gesture. Prince William shared a photo on Instagram of a Victoria sponge cake made by George, Charlotte, and Louis for Catherine on Mother's Day.

Insights into Motherhood

Speaking on the podcast Happy Mum, Happy Baby, Catherine shared: “I've learned a huge amount. There's stuff that I would have done so differently, you know, right at the beginning, considering what I've learnt now.”

William and Catherine's youngest child, Louis, has his birthday on April 23. Princess Charlotte celebrates on May 2, and Prince George on July 22.

George's School Move

Prince George is set to start secondary school in September, following his father's footsteps at Eton. He completed his final year at Lambrook School in Berkshire, near the family's Forest Lodge home in Windsor.

Kensington Palace confirmed: “Kensington Palace can confirm that Prince George will attend Eton College from this September.” The all-boys school costs £63,298 per year, reports Hello! Magazine. Prince William attended from 1995 to 2000, and Prince Harry also attended but reportedly enjoyed it less.
