Princess Kate Shares Powerful Cancer Message After Three Peaks Challenge
Princess Kate's Cancer Message After Three Peaks Challenge

The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, has spoken of living with cancer as she sent an emotional message to survivors after completing the Three Peaks Challenge. The 44-year-old said: "Together, we can stand alongside everyone navigating life with cancer, ensuring no one faces this disease feeling unseen or unsupported."

Three Peaks Challenge Completed for Charity

Kate climbed Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon within 24 hours to raise money for The Royal Marsden, the London hospital where she received cancer treatment. She was diagnosed in March 2024 and completed chemotherapy in September 2024. After reaching the summit of Snowdon solo with Mountain Rescue support, she said: "Please know you are not alone."

Fundraising Page Launched with Royal Marsden

On finishing the challenge, the Princess announced a fundraising page with The Royal Marsden. All donations will support holistic care at the hospital. She stated: "Every year, hundreds of thousands of people in this country hear the words no one wants to hear. Cancer doesn't just affect the body. It changes how you think and feel and profoundly affects every aspect of life."

Personal Journey and Return to Royal Duties

Kate overcame her battle and returned to royal duties in early 2025. She said she took on the challenge to "explore life beyond diagnosis and to give something back." She was greeted by Prince William, Carole and Michael Middleton, and James Middleton at the base of Snowdon.

Holistic Care Vision

Kate emphasized the importance of holistic healthcare, stating: "We have an opportunity to reshape what the future of holistic cancer care looks like, enabling more people nationwide to access personalized support." The funds will also support research into holistic therapies alongside clinical treatments.

Dame Cally Palmer, Chief Executive of The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, said: "At The Royal Marsden, we are committed to ensuring every patient has the personalised support they need. Holistic care plays a vital role in enabling patients to sustain their wellbeing, resilience, and quality of life. We are honoured to have Their Royal Highnesses The Prince and Princess of Wales as Joint Patrons."
