Princess Charlotte has joined a netball team outside of school, a move that echoes her mother Princess Catherine's sporting background. Catherine is known for being sporty, having captained a hockey team, played volleyball, and recently completed the Three Peaks Challenge. Princess Charlotte is reportedly competing at a high level across the country.
William and Kate attend every away match
According to The Mail on Sunday, Prince William and Princess Catherine take their daughter to every away match and pitch camping chairs on the sidelines. A source said: "All of the parents of the girls on the opposing teams are wondering whether or not they're going to run into William and Kate."
The source added: "It's all very hands-on, and it would be funny to see them in such a down-to-earth environment, doing the early starts and long drives that everyone else has to do."
Other sports interests
Princess Charlotte also enjoys other sports. She attended the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this summer with her family, where she watched Australia take on Jamaica in the semi-final and England's match against New Zealand, according to The Royal Observer. She was seen posing with her mother and the Scotland team. Prince William told athletes that Charlotte "loves ballet and gymnastics," and Catherine revealed Charlotte's favourite part was "the floor," adding she "likes her dancing."
In 2023, Princess Catherine showed off her netball skills on a royal visit. Over the past 12 years, she has tried several sports from cricket to volleyball, and played touch rugby at Maidenhead Rugby Club. Catherine was also made the figurehead of the Rugby Football Union and Football League for a year. She has said she adores playing sports and cheering on the teams and athletes she is passionate about.
