Perrie Edwards and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are set to tie the knot this weekend at a ceremony in Portugal. The Little Mix singer, 32, and the professional footballer, also 32, have enjoyed a romance spanning almost ten years in the public eye.
How They Met
Perrie and Alex first became romantically linked in November 2016, when she was spotted in his personal box at an Arsenal game. In 2017, she seemingly confirmed their relationship with a post to Instagram, which showed Alex with their dogs. However, she deleted it soon after, leading to speculation that they had already split up. A month later, she again confirmed their relationship, posting a picture of them both smooching opposite the Eiffel Tower. This was captioned only 'Him.'
Engagement
Alex proposed to Perrie while on holiday in 2022. Sharing a series of snaps to her Instagram account, Perrie wrote: 'Last night the love of my life got down on one knee; and I said… YES!' Among the photos was one of Alex, down on one knee in front of Perrie while on a moonlit beach. In his own Instagram post, Alex referred to Perrie as 'Mrs Oxlade-Chamberlain to be.'
Children
In May 2021, Perrie announced that she and her man were expecting their first child together, posting a black-and-white snap of her blossoming baby bump to Instagram. In August, son Axel was born, with the happy parents sharing his name on social media a few weeks later. '2 weeks of loving you. I've never felt love like this before! Axel Oxlade-Chamberlain,' Perrie wrote on Instagram. Earlier this year, Perrie and Alex welcomed their second child, daughter Alanis Valentine, born in January 2026.
Living Arrangements
Despite ten years and two children together, Perrie and Alex don't actually share a home yet. Perrie and the children currently live in her £3.5 million mansion in Cheshire, which she first purchased in 2020. However, with Alex no longer playing for Beşiktaş, he's since moved to Celtic and is believed to be planning to move Perrie and the children to Glasgow.
Previous Engagement
Before meeting Alex, Perrie was engaged to One Direction star Zayn Malik. Zayn popped the question in 2013, after meeting Perrie on The X-Factor two years earlier. However, they called off the engagement in 2015, with Perrie claiming that he'd broken up with her via text. Of her split, she told Jamie Laing on his Great Company podcast: 'When you go through heartbreak, it is hellish. It's the worst thing in the world. You can't eat. You can't sleep. You feel horrendous.' Elsewhere in their chat, she hinted that there had been 'overlap' between Zayn and his new partner at the time, Gigi Hadid. She said: 'I need to be careful how I say this, but there was, let's just say there was a bit of a… I'm just going to say it. So there was a bit of an overlap. I think when you're moving on with somebody else you always get on better.'
Wedding Details
Alex and Perrie will swap vows in Quinta do Lago in Portugal, where she owns a villa. It is believed that the pair's loved ones have all flown out for the ceremony – including Little Mix bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall. They'll be staying at a five-star hotel called Conrad Algarve where rooms can cost up to £2,800 a night. An insider told The Sun: 'Perrie has been planning their big day for some time and now she cannot wait for it to come. It's been ten years since she started dating Alex and since then they have had their gorgeous son and daughter, and they couldn't be happier. She is flying to the Algarve with Alex, along with their family and closest friends. It is a very intimate celebration. It is everything Perrie and Alex have ever wanted.'
