Oasis are planning a spectacular 12-night residency at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium in summer 2027, as part of a major new tour expected to be announced within weeks, the Manchester Evening News understands. The news comes exactly one year after the band's record-breaking Oasis Live '25 reunion tour kicked off with a memorable opening night in Cardiff.
Etihad Stadium Gears Up for Homecoming
The Etihad Stadium, home to Liam and Noel Gallagher's beloved Manchester City, is preparing to host an epic homecoming return for the band. Sources close to the club and promoters have told the MEN that 12 nights could be announced later this summer, sparking a huge scramble for tickets. The residency is set to take place across May and June 2027, with potential for additional dates—some sources suggest up to 20 shows.
A music industry insider told the MEN: "It will be 12 nights at the Etihad Stadium across May and June. It's just massive for Manchester and for the local economy. They could even add more dates to that as well, there's talk of up to 20. The wider tour is also going to include a return to Knebworth."
Evidence of Preparations
Further evidence of the planned residency comes from a luxury city centre hotel that has been entirely booked out from the end of May through June for the band and their touring entourage. Additionally, Manchester's Parklife festival has moved its 2027 dates to July 10-11, traditionally held in June, clearing the calendar for a potential Oasis run. However, the MEN understands that Heaton Park is not being considered for the new tour.
Bookmakers have fueled speculation, with Betway offering odds of 2/1 on Oasis headlining Glastonbury in 2027 as part of an anticipated world tour. The band's return to Knebworth is also rumoured, with sources confirming it as part of the wider tour.
Timing and Announcement
A new film documenting the 2025 reunion tour, produced by Disney+, will be released in cinemas this autumn, with a premiere on September 11. Rumours suggest the new tour could be announced in September, possibly during the film's end credits. The MEN has approached Oasis's PR team and the Etihad Stadium for comment but has received no response.
When Liam and Noel Gallagher announced their reunion in August 2024, they declared: "The guns have fallen silent, the stars have aligned, the great wait is over." The Oasis Live '25 tour became one of the biggest ticket sales in history. This weekend marks the one-year anniversary of the tour's opening night at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on July 4, 2025, followed by a homecoming at Heaton Park in Manchester.
