Derek McInnes could be on his way to Ibrox as Rangers prepare to replace Danny Rohl. But will this end the revolving door of managers? The Hotline is split.
Support for McInnes
Gavin MacLeod from Bearsden said: “Hopefully it’s third time lucky with McInnes. Getting money for Rohl is good business. McInnes gives fans a manager who ‘gets it’. But the same rules apply: a strong start needed or he’s on the back foot.”
Craig Dunbar from Paisley added: “Getting McInnes early is wise. He knows the club and standards, no bedding-in period needed.”
Duncan Murray from Dunfermline said: “Initially I wasn’t excited, but McInnes has Rangers in his blood. With Shankland and maybe Ferguson, I’ve renewed hope.”
Celtic Fans Unimpressed
Charles Maxwell said: “If Celtic make decent signings, six-in-a-row is comfortable. McInnes lacks winning mentality. He’s jumping on the Ibrox gravy train.”
Jack Armstrong from Bathgate said: “Rangers preferred others before McInnes. Keep your ‘wait till next season’ T-shirts.”
Robert Burns laughed: “Enjoy the new magazine ‘Monthly Manager’ outside Ibrox.”
Hearts Fans Not Worried
Stevie Graham said: “McInnes and Shankland cost Hearts the league. They are overrated. Hearts will survive.”
