Love Island's George Knight has reconnected with his villa ex Robyn Langton just days after his abrupt departure from the show. The 28-year-old footballer joined the series alongside Yasmin Hadlow on day two, but surprisingly bowed out after a mere six days on the island.
While the specifics of his exit were kept under wraps at the time, George has since disclosed that a phone call from home prompted his decision to leave. He revealed that a family member had a health issue which necessitated his return home.
Prior to his villa farewell, the Winchester chap was pursuing a romantic spark with original Islander Robyn Langton. He even extended an invitation to the Liverpool DJ to join him in the Hideaway within 24 hours of their introduction, but she declined.
Robyn has now been ejected from the villa, finding herself single following the entrance of new arrivals Simba Kudyiwa and Tommy Murphy. The ITV star hasn't wasted any time in reconnecting with her villa ex. George recently posted a video of their reunion, showing the pair joyfully embracing each other.
They enjoyed a meal out with former Islander Ope Sowande, who also posted pictures of them getting cosy together. Despite their burgeoning connection in the villa, Robyn has given a cautious update on their post-show relationship.
Speaking on Love Island: Aftersun on Sunday (June 14), the 21-year-old confessed she's uncertain about the future of their partnership. "We've spoke, we've had a little FaceTime," she revealed. "But I don't know. I'm just enjoying time with my family at the minute, I'm not even focusing on that."
Robyn continued: "But yeah, we've had a good conversation. George is boss. We get on really, really well. We've had a few convos, and we'll see."
This follows the newly-minted reality star releasing an extensive statement after her departure from the villa. Writing on Instagram, she shared: "Although finding 'the one' wasn't as easy as I imagined, I wouldn't change a single thing. Every moment taught me something, and I'm so grateful for the journey. Most of all, I'm so happy to be back home with my family and friends."
Love Island continues on ITV2 and ITVX tonight at 9pm.
