Public Outrage Over Minimalist Logo

Reaction on social media has been overwhelmingly negative. On Metro's Instagram post, user @welldoneidonthateyou wrote: 'Absolutely not, CHANGE IT BACK. NO ONE LIKES MINIMALIST LOGOS.' Wider Brand Revamp Underway

Four UK restaurants—Aldershot, Brixton, Baker Street, and Slough—have already undergone overnight rebranding. The logo change is part of a larger refresh that includes a new recipe for chicken tenders, nine new sauces, and an updated bargain bucket design. KFC says the changes aim to feel 'more in tune with modern culture while staying true to its Southern roots.'

Scott Mezvinsky, CEO of KFC Global, stated: 'In an increasingly crowded category, we have a clear opportunity to set the standard for modern chicken. This next chapter brings new energy and expression to what makes us iconic, while doubling down on our chicken and reimagining how fans experience KFC around the world.'

Fast Food Industry Shifts

The KFC rebrand follows McDonald's announcement last month that it will rename its 'Wrap of the Day' to 'Wrap in the App' starting July 14, ending a 15-year tradition. Meanwhile, US-based chicken chain Raising Cane's is preparing to open its first UK location at 21-22 Coventry Street in London, between Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square, later this year.
