Broadcaster Kaye Adams is set to return to the airwaves, following her departure from BBC Radio Scotland last year amid misconduct allegations.
The Loose Women presenter, 63, lost her BBC show in February after an investigation into complaints about her behaviour in her £155,000-a-year role.
Adams had engaged in inappropriate behaviour, including allegedly swearing at a colleague, throwing a pen in frustration and criticising an intern’s professional abilities, the inquiry found. Two separate bullying complaints were not upheld.
One-off STV slot announced
Several months on from the controversy, Adams is set to host a one-off Sunday Brunch slot on STV Radio. Adams and fellow broadcaster Shereen Nanjiani will present a selection of their favourite tracks while reflecting on the personal stories behind them from 9am until 12pm on October 5.
Adams presented BBC Radio Scotland’s flagship morning programme Mornings With Kaye Adams for 15 years before she left the broadcaster.
She was suspended in October 2025 while an investigation into her conduct took place. Speaking during the hiatus, she said: “You know, I've done a lot of soul searching. It's been miserable, it's been absolutely horrible.
“Charlie, my eldest daughter, came down for the weekend, and so we had a nice… I'm not going to say much but it's been the most wretched five weeks, it really has.
“But I'm at a stage now that I think, 'Do you know what, I know I'm not the person that I was painted as. I'm not perfect, never said I was, but I'm not the person I was painted as.'”
Adams went on: “And I thought 'I cannot allow this to drag me down and rinse me of all joy, which it certainly has done. And I can't allow it to do that to my family.'”
Denials over allegations
After her firing, she responded to “simply untrue” claims via a statement on Instagram.
Adams denied allegations that she berated an intern or used a misogynistic slur.
“I categorically deny using a misogynistic slur 14 years ago and I’m horrified at its invention more than a decade later. It is absolutely not a word I would have used,” she wrote.
“As for 'berating an intern', this is simply untrue. Regarding the allegation that I threw a pencil while alone in an empty studio, words fail me.
“I am heartbroken that 15 years of hard work and dedication to BBC Scotland is being reduced to this.”
While the BBC declined to comment on the specific reasons for her exit, the network confirmed she would not return to her former role.
Return to STV roots
Adams originally joined STV as a reporter back in 1988, later presenting Scotland Today and the chat show Scottish Women.
Speaking about her upcoming return, she said: “STV has such a special place in my heart and I’m delighted to be back for a trip down memory lane with my old pal, Shereen ‘The Screen Queen’ Nanjiani.
“This show will give her the chance to tell everyone how excruciating my accent was when I walked into STV HQ 38 years ago.”
Nanjiani added: “I’m delighted to get this chance to co-host with Kaye as STV is where our lifelong friendship began and I have so many happy memories of our time there.
“We’ve had a lot of fun reminiscing and choosing a great playlist of our favourite songs for the show.”
