Gareth Gates has spoken candidly about his secret romance with Katie Price in 2002, admitting he 'did have feelings of love' for the glamour model. In a new documentary, the pop star reveals the relationship lasted several months and included secret meetings at a friend's flat.

Reflecting on the whirlwind affair, Gates, now 41, said: 'I certainly did have feelings of love for her. It was the first time I was feeling those things. I didn't know what it was. But yes, I certainly did love her. To be in love? I think I was too young.' The singer lost his virginity to Price, then known as Jordan, during their time together.
Secret Meetings and Intimate Details
The pair met through Price's flatmate Sally, who was applying makeup on Pop Idol and gave Gates her number. They arranged secret meetings, with Price waiting in a car with tinted windows while Gates left his London hotel unnoticed. They would go to Sally's flat in Hayes, where a sofa bed was pulled out. Price, who was pregnant with son Harvey at the time, said: 'He knew I was pregnant. He'd put his hand on the belly, and I used to say "does it put you off?" It didn't put him off at all.'

Gates admitted he initially only knew Price as a glamour model but found her 'completely different' in person. 'She was very soft. I sensed her vulnerability, like me, very kind, very loving, and yeah, with me, she was anything but Jordan,' he said. 'I think she often wears this mask that she sort of hides behind. I don't think she lets too many people in. I got to know Katie.'

Price reflected on the relationship, saying: 'It's mad, really, because he might have been one that got away, because what I see of him now, he is still a very, very handsome, good-looking man.' According to the Mirror, Gates also revealed that Price mentioned marriage 'literally weeks' into their relationship.

The revelations come ahead of the four-part Sky Original series 'Katie Price: Nothing to Hide', which will be available on Sky and streaming service NOW on 8 July.
