Five have reunited for a tour and are set to perform at Brighton's Pride on the Park. In an interview with Metro, the band – Scott Robinson, Ritchie Neville, Sean Conlon, Abz Love and J Brown – displayed their trademark humour, joking that had TikTok existed in the 90s, "our nutsacks would have made an appearance."
Reunion success and Robbie Williams
The band kicked off their reunion tour in October 2025, playing sold-out arenas across the UK including London's O2. This is not their first attempt at a reunion; following their 2001 split, Five returned for The Big Reunion in 2013 without Jay, then Abz left in 2014, leaving a trio. Abz said: "It just feels like the right time for us. We've grown heads on our shoulders now, so we appreciate it all a lot more." Ritchie added: "We're older, wiser and more mature. We're a team now, and we work through everything together."
Last summer, Robbie Williams reunited all five original members on stage for the first time in 25 years to perform 'Keep On Movin'' at London's Emirates Stadium. Scott said: "We've always been friendly with Robbie. He still video calls us just to check in." Sean noted: "As well as performing together, it was really important to Robbie that we all had this chat away from the cameras... It was just us having a proper heart-to-heart about everything we'd been through."
Pressure and youthful beginnings
Sean was only 16 when he signed with the band, while the oldest member, J, was 21. Ritchie, who has an 11-year-old daughter showing performing signs, said: "I wouldn't want her to do it till she's at least in her mid-twenties."
Five are part of a nostalgia boom alongside Take That's reunion. Sean said they bumped into Take That and Gary told them the tour had taken a physical toll; Sean replied: "Because we're all fit as a fiddle!"
Bad boy image and Westlife feud
Ritchie explained that their 'bad boy' reputation gave them freedom: "Our management were happy for us to just be ourselves." He admitted a brief feud with Westlife after they entered the scene a year later, but said it was "nothing really" and they got over it quickly.
The band recalled a night with Liam Gallagher in 2001 in Brazil, where they ended up playing Bop It!. Scott joked about how many in a fight: "Well, there's five of us and only two of them. We'd smash 'em up!"
Five are now preparing for a packed summer festival schedule. Scott said: "We didn't realise quite how much our music affected people... enjoying every single moment."
