The Brazilian midfielder left Newcastle on August 9 after months of speculation, making his debut for the Gunners in a pre-season friendly. Despite his departure, the poster - which shows Guimaraes alongside Jacob Murphy in the club's new home kit for 2026/27 - remains in place, prompting posts on X and TikTok calling on the retailer to 'get it down'.
Fans puzzled by lingering poster
Guimaraes was still a Newcastle player when the new kit launched on June 10, but fans are now questioning why he still has pride of place outside the store. Supporters are urging JD to replace the billboard with one featuring players who 'actually play' for the club.
The midfielder was one of the standout signings of the post-takeover era at Newcastle, arriving from Lyon in a deal that generated immediate excitement among supporters. He went on to deliver impressive performances and helped the club end a 70-year wait for a major trophy, lifting the Carabao Cup in March.
