Enzo's Fish and Chips in Irvine has been named one of the top takeaways in the UK, earning a spot on the shortlist for Takeaway of the Year at the National Fish and Chip Awards. The Ayrshire chippy is one of six Scottish takeaways nominated for the prize, with the overall winner set to be revealed at the awards final in London next February.

The finalists were selected from entries across the UK, with judges assessing food offerings, customer service, and commitment to sustainable practices. Enzo's Fish and Chips, located at 2 Ayr Road in Irvine, is open seven days a week and serves fish freshly caught in the North Sea and landed in Lerwick, Shetland, before being cooked to order.
Sharing the news on Facebook, the takeaway wrote: "Absolutely buzzing to announce that Enzo's Fish and Chips, Irvine has been named one of the Top 40 Fish and Chip Takeaways in the UK for 2027! To see our wee shop in Irvine recognised nationally alongside some of the best fish and chip shops in the country is unbelievable."
Menu and customer praise
The menu includes haddock, cod, and wholetail scampi suppers, alongside hamburgers, steak pies, and mince pies. Customers can also order black pudding, haggis, king rib, macaroni cheese, and half or full smoked sausage, with pizzas, chicken fillets, nuggets, and chip rolls completing the main menu. Sides include onion rings and fritter rolls, with various ice cream flavours and a separate children's menu also available.
