Coronation Street star Amy Robbins has shared a number of photos from Emily Atack's wedding, who some may be unaware is her niece.
The actress, who returned to the ITV soap, filmed in Salford, at the end of last summer in the role of Christina Boyd, comes from a theatrical family. Her sister, Kate Robbins, is Emily's mum and is also a singer and actress, known for her work on Spitting Image.
Their brother, Ted Robbins, is known for appearing on the TV show Benidorm. He was also in Phoenix Night and Little Britain, as well as being the voiceover on Catchphrase. The family also has a Beatle connection, as Sir Paul McCartney is Emily's first cousin, twice removed - the cousin of her grandmother Bett Robbins.
Wedding celebration
It was a big day for the family over the weekend, as Emily tied the knot with her scientist partner, Alistair Garner, with whom she shares son Barney James Garner, in an "absolutely perfect" ceremony.
She revealed they had become husband and wife on Sunday (August 23), sharing a post on Instagram which read: "Yesterday we officially got married among close family and friends. It was absolutely perfect. I can’t believe we get to do all that again in a few weeks time. Christ, we have fun don’t we @dralistairgarner."
She shared a selection of photos from their wedding, including her and her husband walking through a crowd of guests as they were showered in confetti. Another showed the newlyweds holding glasses of wine and posing in front of a car while laughing and smiling, while in the final image, they were kissing.
Family moments shared online
Emily has continued to share pictures from the special day on Instagram, with one showing Amy alongside her sister, Emma Robbins. "Fun aunty brigade," the bride wrote alongside the post, to which Amy, who also starred in The Royal and Casualty, replied: "Emily said it... not me!"
She then shared a follow-up photo of herself cuddling Emily on her big day, alongside which she wrote: "Baby niece was the most beautiful bride [heart emoji]."
Emily and Alistair announced their engagement in July last year, sharing a photo of the couple cuddling, which she captioned: "It’s Friday, I’m in love," alongside three ring emojis.
When sharing news of her son’s birth a year earlier, she posted on Instagram: "We have a beautiful son. Barney James Garner. All my dreams have come true."
