An actress who featured in one of Coronation Street's darkest storylines is returning to the cobbles for another grim plot, this time in a fresh role.
When young Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) came under the influence of Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper), he groomed her, isolating her from family and friends before exploiting her. Nathan trafficked Bethany towards Belgium, but she escaped after pleading for help at a motorway service station. The unnamed stranger who helped her was played by Lucinda Sinclair.
Returning as Beatrice
Sinclair will return later this month as Beatrice, a counsellor involved in the murder storyline of Rachel Parkinson. A source told The Sun: 'It's a guest role but Lucinda is delighted to be back on the cobbles.'
Beatrice will appear as the counsellor of Lucy Parkinson (Anya Dewin), daughter of Tim Metcalfe's (Joe Duttine) cousin Richie (Nathan Sussex), who killed his wife Rachel after arriving on the cobbles last month.
Grim murder plot
Tim discovered Rachel's body after returning Richie's wallet, finding his cousin's shirt splattered with blood. Since then, Tim and wife Sally (Sally Dynevor) have fostered Lucy, though the traumatised teenager has proved challenging.
Sally will suggest Lucy see a counsellor, leading the family to Beatrice. Whether she can help the Metcalfes through this terrifying time remains to be seen.
