Corrie Fans Fume Over Theo Silverton Investigation Twist

Coronation Street fans are already expressing their frustrations as the investigation into Theo Silverton is set to take a dramatic turn in upcoming scenes. Viewers of the ITV soap have now waited weeks to discover who killed the abuser, after he was revealed as the villain who was killed off on the night of Lisa and Carla Connor-Swain's wedding day.

Months after it was teased that he could be one of five villains murdered in the dramatic storyline, Theo's lifeless body was found by a horrified Betsy Swain and a 'whodunnit' has been underway ever since.

Suspects and Investigation

Corrie previously confirmed Todd Grimshaw, George Shuttleworth, Summer Spellman, Christina Boyd, Gary Windass and Danielle Silverton as the six potential suspects, with DS Lisa Connor-Swain and DC Kit Green leading the investigation.

Dinner Party Revelation

Now, Corrie fans have been invited to a dinner party with a difference on the cobbles next week when home truths are served, and the tea is most definitely spilt. By the end of the evening, viewers will learn who killed Theo, as a series of flashbacks revisit the fateful April night when his body was found. The hour-long episode will air on Monday, June 22, revealing secrets and lies and finally solving the mystery of Theo's murder. Corrie has also confirmed the episode won't be held back for broadcast on ITV, as it'll be available to stream on ITVX and YouTube from 7am.

Fan Reactions

Sharing more details as to what fans can expect, earlier in the day, Kit discovers that Sarah Platt has invited Todd and Summer round for dinner, and decides to add Maria and Gary Windass to the guest list. As Corrie fans know, Sarah and Gary have been hiding something for weeks, with Maria suspecting the former couple are having an affair. But the dinner party descends into chaos, with a broken glass, an overturned chair and angry accusations thrown. But as a trailer for the upcoming scenes, available now on YouTube, was revealed, some Corrie fans have responded with upset that Lisa may not be seen cracking the case as they had hoped.

  • @TheConnorSwains said: "So, the dinner party reveals the killer to the audience only? Then we have to wait a few more weeks for Lisa to solve the case… right? ... It better be Lisa who gets this win after everything she’s sacrificed and the [poo emoji] she’s had to put up with. #Swarla #Corrie."
  • @LisasLip72 replied: "It must be Lisa who cracks it."
  • @rita_d14 commented: "But we wanted Lisa to solve the murder not Kit."
  • @missnessa11 echoed: "They better NOT take this win away from Lisa. She has done all the work, she has put off her honeymoon, stayed late hours to where she barely sees her new wife. I’m sat, but will be very upset if she doesn’t get to be the one to solve this murder!!!"
  • @Fake_TV_Chef added: "So we're going to learn who killed Theo not by Lisa solving the case that she missed her honeymoon for, but by flashbacks at a dinner party that a group of red herrings are at. I'm now guessing Kit did it and has been trying to pin it on Gary. #Swarla #Corrie."
