Coronation Street fans have been left fearing for Ryan Connor as they were quick to share the same reaction to an update on the character's love life. The Chariot Square Hotel manager and DJ remains much-loved among fans, with actor Ryan Prescott stepping into the recast role back in 2018.
Five years after Ryan's last appearance in Weatherfield, his job in Ibiza fell through, and he moved back in with his mum, Michelle, played by Kym Marsh. The rest, as they say, is history, but one thing that hasn't quite worked out for Ryan on the cobbles is his love life. And it doesn't look set to get any better, as it's been hinted that he'll be used by mysterious newcomer Jodie Ramsey.
As Corrie fans know, Jodie was first seen tied up in the back of a van being driven by Emmerdale returnee Graham Foster during a horror multi-vehicle pile-up. While they weren't directly involved in the crash but caught up in the traffic chaos surrounding it, Jodie made an escape bid and, after being injured, as DC Kit Green gave chase, she ended up in the hospital, where she came across Shona Platt, who was revealed as her long-lost sister.
It wasn't long before Jodie made herself comfortable with Shona and her family at No.8 Coronation Street. But as viewers have seen, she has made multiple attempts to get between her sister's relationship with her husband, David Platt. She was also seen as one of five possible victims of a murder in Weatherfield before convincing Daniel Osbourne, who wasn't in a good place following his girlfriend, Megan Walsh, being exposed as a groomer, to be her new pal and briefly moving in with him, before he exposed her as his online troll as his mental health deteriorated.
Spoilers for next week's Corrie have now revealed Jodie's next plan. She gets landed with making a tin man costume for Harry Platt's school play, but distracted, she scrolls through a dating app, and when one of the profiles amuses her, she clicks to 'like' it. Later, Jodie reveals that she's got a date, and when David Platt lets slip that he's meeting Nick Tilsley in the Bistro, Jodie forms a plan. Soon, Jodie meets her date, Ryan Connor, at the Bistro. But once David arrives, Jodie switches on the charm, hoping to make David jealous. How will the evening pan out?
While the rest of the details will play out in the upcoming episodes, Corrie fans have already been having their say - and they don't seem too impressed. Article continues below.
