Coronation Street character Maria Connor is left devastated after believing she has uncovered the secret that Sarah Platt and Gary Windass are hiding on the ITV soap. Next week's episodes see Maria convinced that her husband Gary is having an affair with Sarah, following weeks of suspicious behavior.
Maria Suspects an Affair
Sarah and Gary have seemed rattled by something recently, with private meet-ups and cryptic conversations. Maria, noticing their closeness, grows suspicious. She tells Fiz Brown and Izzy Armstrong that she believes Gary is cheating with Sarah.
When Sarah learns from Todd Grimshaw that Maria thinks she has rumbled what is going on, she is shocked. Todd decides to warn his close friend about Maria's accusations.
Gary's Surprise Holiday
Maria spots Gary and Sarah hugging and overhears Gary saying they need to delete their messages. Determined to find proof, she confronts Gary, suggesting they talk. Gary, sensing trouble, proposes a curry dinner that evening. However, Maria remains unconvinced.
Later, Gary announces a surprise holiday for the family. While others are thrilled, Maria believes he is trying to appease his guilt over the alleged affair. She tells Izzy that the holiday is a cover-up, and she still thinks Gary is cheating.
