Claudia Winkleman is set to appear on CBeebies Bedtime Story on Thursday 1 October, reading Huw Aaron's book Monkeypig, just hours before the new series of Celebrity Traitors airs.
The presenter will read the story at 6.50pm on CBeebies, with the episode also available on iPlayer. The mischievous tale follows Molly, who lives happily among the monkeys in the jungle even though she is secretly a pig. When head monkey Norman suspects an impostor has infiltrated the group, he puts everyone through a series of monkey tests, leaving Molly at risk of being exposed unless she can complete the trials.
Celebrity Traitors return
Later that evening, Celebrity Traitors returns with an extra-long opening episode at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. As usual, Claudia will pick her Faithfuls and Traitors shortly after the cast check into the castle, before the game gets underway as contestants try to weed out and eliminate the Traitors. The series will air two nights a week on Thursday and Friday evenings at 8pm.
Joining an impressive roster
Claudia joins a list of celebrities who have appeared on Bedtime Stories, including Celebrity Traitors stars Joe Marler and Paloma Faith.
Speaking about watching her own children grow up, Claudia said: "When it comes to my kids, I’ve loved all the chapters. I love them when they are little, I love them when they are squishy, I love them when they are toddlers, I also love them when they are 23, like my eldest."
She added: "Every little bit is a gift and I am so happy to have them. I’m looking forward to all of it. I’m really really looking forward to being a grandma. No pressure guys."
She went on to say: "I am a deep embarrassment to my children because I’m too orange, my lipstick is too white and I wear too much black, so they find me excruciating and that’s just how it should be…I embarrass them but that’s our job. So if you find your parents embarrassing that’s good, it means they’re smashing it."
