Queen guitarist Brian May has received an outpouring of support after sharing tributes to Dolly Parton and Tim Curry, who died within hours of each other. Country music icon Dolly passed away on the morning of August 25 in Nashville, Tennessee, at the age of 80. Beloved actor Tim died later that night, with emergency responders called to his home for a death investigation at 11.23pm local time.

Tributes to Dolly Parton

On his Instagram, Brian first remembered Dolly, who covered two iconic Queen songs, We Are The Champions and We Will Rock You, for her Rockstar album in 2023. Posting a picture of the star on stage, he wrote: "Songwriter, storyteller, singer, philanthropist, tender heart, warrior, icon, model for millions as a performer and as a human being ... how sadly will you be missed by millions. How grateful we all are that you touched our lives. RIP Dolly Parton."

Remembering Tim Curry

Just hours later, he returned to the site to pay tribute to Tim, posting a clip of him in action in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. "These are such sad times. RIP the glorious and unforgettable Tim Curry," he reflected.

Fans show support

Fans shared his sadness at the loss of the two beloved stars and immediately offered Brian their support. Commenting on his words about Dolly, one fan wrote: "Such a beautiful heartfelt tribute dear Bri. She was an incredible person with the kindest heart and will be very missed."

Another added: "Thank you, Sir Brian, for the heartfelt and beautiful tribute to such an amazing lady. I am devastated by the news of her passing. My sincere condolences and love to her family and friends... which I'm sure includes everyone in the world!"

A third chimed in: "It's a sad day indeed, Brian. What a loss of an incredible songwriter, entertainer and human being." A fourth commented on his Tim Curry tribute: "I hope you aren’t feeling sad. You are surrounded by so much love from your wonderful family and friends, and by the affection of millions of fans who love you deeply. We just have to look on the bright side and cherish the legacy these wonderful people have left us."

A fifth shared: "So sorry! It's so sad news! Thank you for the post in honor of his life and talent...Please don't be sad!
