New reports that Sarah Ferguson is planning to pen an explosive autobiography have been rubbished by an insider. The source said there is no truth in the story and that the former Duchess of York "has no plans to write any tell-all memoir" and is "unaware of any multi-million dollar book deal".
Denial after reports of imminent deal
The denial comes shortly after reports that Ms Ferguson is "days away" from making a deal regarding her autobiography. The Sun reported that a chapter-by-chapter synopsis has already been written, with detailed notes on "key subjects," which reportedly include her thoughts on her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor; Jeffrey Epstein; King Charles; and Harry and Meghan.
Ms Ferguson has kept a low profile following damaging fresh details regarding her connection to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. She has continuously denied all wrongdoing.
Claims of reputation rescue mission
Claims have often been made that the former Duchess is eyeing up a damning book deal after her fall from grace. Insiders insisted to The Sun that Ms Ferguson is "on a mission" to rescue her reputation. One source told the paper: "Sarah wants to set the record straight about everything and earn some money to resolve her financial issues. There has been a secret bidding war, and a deal is close to being secured."
"The notes are compelling, and the bidders are excited. Fergie is ever the optimist and believes she can be forgiven and welcomed back."
However, sources insist that there is "no truth to this story" and that Sarah "has no plans to write any tell-all memoir". They added: "She is not in discussion with any publisher regarding this and she is completely unaware of any multi million dollar book deal."
Previous publications and Epstein emails
Sarah has already published two memoirs: My Story in 1996 and Finding Sarah in 2011. In addition to her famous Budgie the Little Helicopter series, first published in 1994, Sarah has written in-depth about Queen Victoria and has published other children's books in both the Little Red and the Genie Gems series. Largely inspired by her own family history, Sarah penned three romantic novels, Her Heart For a Compass, A Most Intriguing Lady and A Woman of Intrigue, which became instant Sunday Times bestsellers.
Talk about whether Sarah would opt to put pen to paper once again and write an explosive memoir putting her side of the Epstein scandal across hit fever pitch last year. A source previously told the Daily Express: "With no substantial income coming in, Sarah is now looking to follow in the footsteps of Prince Harry and is willing to pen a tell-all memoir about her time with Andrew and how she was treated by the Royal Family after their split."
After explosive details about Ms Ferguson's relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein were revealed by the Department of Justice's release of emails in the Epstein Files last year, Sarah has been keeping a low profile. In a full statement explaining the situation regarding the emails, a spokesperson for Sarah previously said: "The Duchess spoke of her regret about her association with Epstein many years ago, and as they have always been, her first thoughts are with his victims. Like many people, she was taken in by his lies.
"As soon as she was aware of the extent of the allegations against him, she not only cut off contact but condemned him publicly, to the extent that he then threatened to sue her for defamation for associating him with paedophilia. She does not resile from anything she said then. This email was sent in the context of advice the Duchess was given to try to assuage Epstein and his threats."
In her 2011 email to Epstein, Sarah apologised for not reaching out to him and said she was "bedridden with fear" about speaking with him, as she had been advised not to.
