Queen's Reading Room Festival Returns to Chatsworth with Star-Studded Lineup
The Queen's Reading Room festival is set to make a grand return to Chatsworth in Derbyshire this September, featuring an impressive roster of speakers including broadcaster Clare Balding, former politician Lord Jeffrey Archer, and bestselling author Harlan Coben. The event commemorates the fifth anniversary of Camilla's global charity, which originated as an Instagram book club during the Covid-19 lockdowns, aiming to foster a love of literature across all ages.
High-Profile Speakers and Engaging Discussions
During the festival, Clare Balding, known for her role in Celebrity Traitors, will explore the intricate connection between physical locations and the narratives woven into her novels. Lord Jeffrey Archer, a former MP and one of the world's most successful authors, will share insights on crafting compelling and successful novels. American writer Harlan Coben, famed for Netflix adaptations like Fool Me Once, will discuss the transformation of his literary works into popular television series.
The programme also includes artist and author Philippa Perry, who is married to Sir Grayson Perry, delving into the provocative topic of whether a therapist can identify a killer. Lee Child, creator of the Jack Reacher series adapted for TV, will join special guests to talk about rehabilitation through writing and reading, highlighting the therapeutic power of literature.
