Queen Camilla's Reading Room festival is set to return to Chatsworth in Derbyshire on 19th and 20th September, marking the fifth anniversary of her global charity. The event will feature a star-studded lineup including broadcaster Clare Balding, former MP Lord Jeffrey Archer, and bestselling author Harlan Coben.
Clare Balding, known for her role on Celebrity Traitors, will explore the relationship between physical locations and narratives. Lord Archer will discuss crafting successful novels, while Harlan Coben will talk about adapting his works for television, including the Netflix series Fool Me Once.
Other speakers include artist and author Philippa Perry, who will examine whether a therapist can catch a killer, and Lee Child, author of the Jack Reacher series, who will discuss rehabilitation through writing. The lineup also features Ann Cleeves, Elif Shafak, Meg Mason, Daisy Fancourt, Cecelia Ahern, Kate Atkinson, Louise Penny, and many more.
The festival will include a Writers' Room for aspiring authors and a Poetry Room. A new exhibition at Chatsworth House will showcase notable literary works from its archive. Vicki Perrin, chief executive of The Queen's Reading Room, said the charity is committed to making reading accessible, continuing its partnership with The Elm Foundation to support victims of domestic violence.
Tickets go on sale from 15th April, with a Universal Credit Scheme offering reduced rates for low-income guests.
