Former Wales rugby captain Gareth Thomas has starred as a talking plant in a theatre company's production of the musical Little Shop of Horrors.
The ex-rugby player took on the role of the man-eating plant Audrey II in Vision Arts' production of the Broadway and Hollywood musical at The Boulevard Theatre in Milford Haven.

Thomas told the Western Telegraph: "I had such an incredible time in Pembrokeshire doing Aladdin. The audiences were brilliant, the whole company made me feel so welcome and I genuinely loved every minute of it, so when Drew asked me if I fancied coming back and becoming a giant, talking, man-eating plant... how could I possibly say no?"
He added: "I've been a rugby player, I've been a genie and now apparently I'm a plant. I'm not entirely sure where my career goes after this, but I absolutely cannot wait."
About the musical
In its promotional material, Vision Arts Wales describes the play as a "deviously delicious Broadway and Hollywood sci-fi smash musical".

The plot follows Seymour Krelborn, a meek floral assistant who stumbles across a new breed of plant he names "Audrey II" - after his coworker crush. This foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore promises unending fame and fortune to the down-and-out Krelborn as long as he keeps feeding it blood. Over time, Seymour discovers Audrey II's out-of-this-world origins and its intent towards global domination.
