Fans Demand Return of Favourite Characters
For over a decade, BBC audiences have enjoyed watching detectives solve bizarre crimes on the fictional island of Saint Marie. The show has featured several lead detectives, including Don Miller, Kris Marshall, Ardal O'Hanlon, Ralf Little, and Don Gilet.
Two spin-offs have already been launched: Beyond Paradise, which follows DI Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) and his wife Martha Lloyd (Sally Bretton) in England, and Return to Paradise, which centres on DI Mackenzie Clarke (Anna Samson) in Australia.
Now, a Reddit user has sparked a discussion about potential future spin-offs. One popular suggestion is a series featuring Florence (Joséphine Jobert) and Neville (Ralf Little) solving crimes while on a permanent vacation. This idea received widespread support from fans.
Another fan proposed a prequel set in the 1970s and 1980s, focusing on a young Commissioner Selwyn Patterson. They suggested the show would follow his career from a rough new recruit to a detective, including his marriage and friendship with Catherine, who is saving to buy a bar.
