Caledonia High: New Musical to Transform Lanarkshire's Arts

A major new original musical is poised to take Lanarkshire's performing arts scene by storm. Produced by SJS Productions and backed by a powerhouse collaboration including the Jazzart Charitable Trust, North Lanarkshire Council, and South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture Events, Caledonia High is officially launching a nationwide search for the country's next generation of onstage talent.

Described as 'High School Musical meets Braveheart,' Caledonia High follows the adolescent adventures, fierce rivalries, and soaring ambitions of students at a high-octane Scottish performing arts school. Combining the infectious energy of contemporary musical theatre with a proud, modern Scottish spirit, this homegrown production promises to be a cultural highlight of the upcoming season.

To bring this vibrant new world to life, the creative team is hosting open auditions across Lanarkshire this June, seeking exceptional triple-threat young performers, singers, musicians, and dancers.

"Scotland is bursting with raw, untapped theatrical talent, and Caledonia High is the perfect vehicle to showcase it," says the production team at SJS Productions. "This isn't just another youth theatre project; it's a brand-new, original piece of Scottish musical theatre. Thanks to the incredible support of the Jazzart Charitable Trust and both North and South Lanarkshire councils, we are able to offer a platform that could launch the careers of Scotland's future stars."

To ensure accessibility for talent across the central belt, auditions will be held at East Kilbride Village Theatre on Sunday, June 28, from 11am and Monday, June 29, at Airdrie Town Hall. Audition registration forms are available via Jazzart College of Performing Arts, which is supporting SJS Productions. To secure an audition slot or to find out more details about times and preparation, applicants are advised to visit social media channels @caledoniahigh2026 or email contact@jazzartuk.com.
