Teacher Arrested After Allegedly Punching Shopper in Supermarket Chicken Queue

A 42-year-old teacher has been arrested following an alleged assault in a South Carolina supermarket over the last rotisserie chicken. Ashley Murff is accused of punching another shopper in the face and using a racial slur during an argument in the queue at Sam's Club on Fashion Drive.

The incident occurred on Valentine's Day when the victim, who was waiting in line, reportedly took an extra chicken for an elderly woman unable to stand in the queue. According to the victim's friend, this sparked a verbal dispute, during which Murff allegedly made a racist comment. When the victim attempted to take a photo, Murff is said to have punched her in the face.

The pair fought until they were separated by others. Murff left the store before police arrived but was identified through CCTV footage, leading to a warrant for her arrest. She was taken into custody and charged with assault.
