Vintage names once considered old-fashioned are making a comeback, with experts predicting a surge in popularity for 'boomer' names by 2026. According to Nameberry, the '100 Year Rule' suggests baby names cycle back into fashion roughly a century after their peak, but some are reappearing much sooner.
Influencers and celebrities have recently opted for Baby Boomer-generation names, accelerating the trend. These 'A-OK Boomer Names' take once-dated names from the 1950s and give them a trendy new lease of life, appearing about 30 years ahead of the expected timeline.
Nameberry's book 'Beyond Jennifer & Jason' highlights this phenomenon, noting that names previously linked with grandparents are now cropping up on modern baby name lists. With so many options available, parents may feel overwhelmed, but the resurgence offers a fresh wave in baby naming.
