Finishing Touches Underway for New East Kilbride School
Finishing Touches for New East Kilbride School

Finishing touches are being prepared for the new Calderglen High School in East Kilbride, with the building expected to be handed over by the contractor in the coming weeks.

New School Building Nears Completion

The new school, which is being built on the existing Calderglen High School site, will replace the current building. The project is part of South Lanarkshire Council's school estate improvement programme.

The new building will include a range of modern facilities, including a three-court games hall, a fitness suite, a dance studio, and a drama studio. It will also have a dining area, a library, and a range of teaching spaces.

Contractor Handover Expected Soon

The contractor is expected to hand over the building in the coming weeks, after which the council will begin fitting out the interior with furniture and equipment. The school is expected to open to pupils in the new year.

Once the new school is open, the existing building will be demolished and the site will be landscaped to create new playing fields and a car park.
