Bendigo Truck Crash Kills 15-Year-Old Boy Outside School

A 15-year-old boy has died after being hit by a truck outside a regional Victorian school shortly before classes were due to start. The incident occurred on High Street in Bendigo at 8.30am on Friday, according to Victoria police.

The teenager, who lived locally, was struck by a truck near Girton Grammar School, a private school for prep to Year 12 students. A passers-by attempted CPR but the boy died at the scene.

The truck driver was not injured and is assisting police with the investigation. No charges have been laid at this stage.

Jacinta Allan, the Premier of Victoria and the member for Bendigo East, expressed her deep sadness, saying her heart was with the family and the school community. She had contacted the school's principal to offer support.

The Mayor of Greater Bendigo, Andrea Metcalf, said the community was deeply saddened by the tragic loss of a young life and offered heartfelt condolences to the family.
