WalesOnline's Christmas toy appeal has returned for a fourth year, with the aim of helping as many children in Wales as possible. The appeal previously helped thousands of youngsters wake up to find a present waiting for them, and also stocked food pantries at two charities so families had enough items to get through an expensive time of year.
Readers' generosity praised
Readers who shared the appeal and bought items were thanked for their contributions, which helped give children a memorable Christmas gift and eased the worries of their families. The appeal acknowledges that behind every child desperate for a present is a parent desperate to provide the sort of Christmas seen in adverts.
Charities invited to get involved
Last year the appeal worked with three charities, but organisers want to do more. Charities are being sought to receive toys for distribution to families in need in their local community. While it cannot be guaranteed that everyone who gets in touch can be helped, charities or those who know of one are invited to contact ruth.mosalski@walesonline.co.uk for more information.
