Alison Hammond has shared an update from hospital after falling ill earlier today. The TV host was rushed off air during her hosting duties on This Morning on Friday (October 2). It was later revealed she had fallen unwell and had been taken to hospital.
Heart check after palpitation
She has now shared she is in hospital and is having her heart checked after suffering a "little bit of a palpitation". Alison informed her followers she is on the mend, and thanks fans for their love and support.
Speaking in a video on Instagram, the TV star said: "Hello my lovelies, I know you're all worried about me. Honestly, I am fine first of all but I'm getting my old ticker checked out". She gestured to her heart in the video.
Alison added: "I had a little bit of a palpitation and now I'm getting it all checked out but I think I'm okay. I'm hoping it's just a little panic attack or something like that."
Message to fans
"I love you all, thank you for all your lovely messages. I'm so sorry I left you, I would never normally do that, I would never leave a TV show. Just so you know I wasn't very well but hopefully I'm going to be alright."
"The doctors are so lovely and they're checking me out. Hopefully everything is going to be fine." Still feeling positive, she added: "It will be fine, I'm rocking it, I've still got my makeup on from this morning."
Dermot O'Leary addresses absence
Dermot O'Leary addressed Alison's absence from the show this morning. During a phone-in from pet owners with Dr Scott, there appeared to be problems in the studio as the camera caught Dermot helping Alison out of the studio, while Dr Scott looked concerned.
Dermot explained her absence, and later said she wouldn't be returning to the show. He said: "Welcome back to This Morning, Alison is feeling a little unwell, so she's just had to duck out. Hopefully she'll be back."
He later said: "Ali's feeling a little unwell so I'll be here for the rest of the show."

Viewers took to social media to express their concerns for the beloved presenter. One person wrote: "Hope Alison Is ok and its nothing more than a bit unwell." Another said: "Plenty of people there to care for Alison. Get well soon lovely x."
