A group of women hatched a murder plot over cocktails at a Cardiff bar, leading to a brutal attack that left the victim with life-changing injuries. The plot was uncovered during a trial at Cardiff Crown Court, where the perpetrators were sentenced to prison.
The Plot Unfolds
The women met at a bar in Cardiff city center, where they discussed plans to murder a man. Over cocktails, they devised a scheme that involved luring the victim to a secluded location. The attack took place in July 2023, when the victim was ambushed and subjected to a violent assault.
The Attack and Aftermath
The victim suffered multiple stab wounds, including injuries to his chest and abdomen. He was rushed to the University Hospital of Wales, where he underwent emergency surgery. Despite the severity of the attack, he survived. The women were arrested shortly after the incident.
Sentencing
At Cardiff Crown Court, the women were found guilty of conspiracy to murder. The ringleader, a 34-year-old woman, was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 18 years. Three other women received sentences ranging from 12 to 16 years. The judge described the plot as “cold-blooded and premeditated.”
Victim Impact
The victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said in a statement: “I live in constant fear and have been left with permanent scars, both physical and mental. The attack has changed my life forever.”

Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Jones said: “This was a shocking case of extreme violence. The women showed no remorse and were determined to carry out their plan. We are relieved that justice has been served.”
