A woman was taken to hospital after a police car was involved in a crash in south Manchester. The incident occurred on Barlow Moor Road in Didsbury this afternoon, Wednesday, June 17.
Details of the Collision
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed that a police car was involved in a collision with another vehicle. Pictures from the scene, outside Moor Allerton prep school near the junction with Mersey Road, showed a liveried police car and a blue estate car, both with damage to their front ends.
Emergency Response
Paramedics and fire crews attended the scene, and the area around the vehicles was cordoned off. The North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) confirmed that a woman was taken to hospital for treatment. GMP could not confirm whether the person was an officer or a civilian.
No Serious Injuries Reported
Despite the damage, GMP stated that it appeared no serious injuries had been suffered by anybody. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) confirmed they attended to help make the scene safe.
