A woman who intervened when a man was allegedly stabbed during a carjacking has been hailed a “hero”. The incident happened around 12.55am on Saturday at North Street in Leven, Fife.
A 32-year-old man was allegedly attacked by two suspects who attempted to steal his car. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
Victim thanks rescuer online
The man later shared pictures of the inside of his car covered in blood. He posted online: “I got stabbed last night in Leven, would just like to say a massive thank you to the woman who ran over and got them both to stop stabbing me! So grateful for her honestly.”
The woman who allegedly ran to his rescue responded, saying: “You’re welcome pal. Hope ur ok and recover quickly. I couldn’t not help. I wouldn’t have been able to live with myself. I honestly was terrified to look at u when he ran away from u. Just glad ur alive”.
Community praise and police appeal
Dozens of people on the Fife Jammer Facebook page praised her for her actions. One wrote: “Fair play to you! Very brave”. Another described her as “amazing” while a third said: “Not all hero’s were capes.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.55am on Saturday, 3 October, 2026, police received a report a man had been assaulted in North Street, Leven. “Emergency services attended and a 32-year-old man was taken to hospital. “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances. “Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number, 0158 of 3 October, 2026. “Police are following a positive line of inquiry.”
