A woman in India has alleged she was gang raped by three men who promised to help secure her husband's release on bail. The incident reportedly left her pregnant, according to medical tests and an ultrasound examination.
Allegations and Initial Encounter
The woman claimed she was working at a private business in Zirakpur, India, where she met two of the suspects, identified as Aamir and Sonu. At the time, her husband was held in jail in Uttar Pradesh. The two men told her about a third man, Imran, who could help secure her husband's release through his contacts.
Details of the Assault
According to the woman, on September 7, 2025, Aamir and Sonu took her to Amroha in Uttar Pradesh, where they met Imran at a guest house in Joya. She alleged that all three men gang raped her there. She further claimed that Aamir and Sonu had sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions before the incident and threatened to kill her if she spoke about it, as reported by Hindustan Times.
Discovery of Pregnancy and Investigation
The complainant stated that her husband was released from prison on September 23, 2025. After experiencing abdominal pain, she underwent medical tests and an ultrasound examination, which confirmed that she was pregnant. She subsequently informed her husband about the alleged assaults.
As part of the investigation, police reviewed medical documents, ultrasound findings, and other evidence. Investigators reported that the material gathered did not substantiate the allegation that the incident took place at the guest house on September 7. Technical and forensic evidence suggested the alleged offence may have occurred around October 8, 2025, and pointed to a possible connection with Zirakpur jurisdiction.
Case Transfer and Charges
In light of these findings, the case was transferred to the Punjab Police for further inquiry. Authorities registered a case under Sections 70(1) (gang rape) and 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and initiated a detailed investigation. The accused are identified as Aamir, Sonu, and Imran.
