Woman dies after being hit by lorry in Radcliffe crash

A woman has died after being hit by a lorry in Radcliffe. Emergency services were called to Church Street West at around 3.45pm on Tuesday afternoon (October 6).

Woman in her 50s dies at the scene

Greater Manchester Police said the pedestrian, a woman in her 50s, died at the scene. No arrests have been made in connection with the collision.

Church Street West and part of Stand Lane were closed throughout Tuesday evening as officers worked at the scene. GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit is continuing with its enquiries.

Police appeal for witnesses

Images from the scene showed a white protective screen and a lorry outside a row of shops within the cordon. Investigators were seen inspecting the cab of the lorry before the vehicle was removed. A fire engine and ambulance were also seen in attendance.
