A violent brawl broke out at Hyde Park's Winter Wonderland on Sunday, leaving visitors shocked and children distressed. Footage of the incident, which occurred at a crispy chicken stall, has gone viral on social media, amassing nearly 90,000 views.
In the video, two men are seen arguing with stallholders, with one worker brandishing a pole. The altercation escalated into a physical fight, during which a customer snatched the pole and knocked over a sign. A woman can be heard shouting, 'There are children... there are children everywhere,' as young children walked nearby.
Security guards arrived and managed to calm the situation, escorting the brawlers away from the stall. The incident unfolded to the ironic soundtrack of 'It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year' playing in the background.
Social media users speculated that the fight was over food prices, with one commenting, 'I know the prices are ridiculous there, but you're under no obligation to purchase.' Winter Wonderland has faced criticism for its high costs, with a pint costing over £6, fish and chips £14, and hot chocolate £7.
A similar incident occurred at the same venue in December 2019, resulting in three arrests for public order offences. The Metropolitan Police have not yet commented on Sunday's brawl.
