Two people were shot at Westfield Valley Fair in Santa Clara, California, on Black Friday, according to the San Jose Police Department. The victims were found inside the mall and taken to a local hospital, though their conditions remain unknown.
Police received a report of the shooting at around 5:40 p.m. PST and stated that it appears to be an isolated incident, not an active shooter situation. The mall is being evacuated, and authorities have assured the public there is no ongoing threat.
San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan expressed his concern on social media, saying, "This is not the news I wanted to share with you this holiday weekend. My prayers are with these victims and I know our officers are doing everything they can to find the person responsible." He urged people to avoid the area while the investigation continues.
