Incident Outside Burnwood Primary Academy

A boy and a girl were taken to hospital after being hit by a car outside Burnwood Primary Academy in Chell Heath, Stoke-on-Trent, on the morning of 24 June 2026. Emergency services, including three ambulances and the air ambulance, were dispatched to the scene at around 8:30 am.

Injuries and Response

The girl sustained serious injuries, while the boy suffered potentially serious injuries, according to West Midlands Ambulance Service. Both were stabilised at the scene before being transported to the Royal Stoke University Hospital. The air ambulance landed on fields between the school and Canterbury Drive.

Police Investigation Underway

Staffordshire Police confirmed that the driver of the white Toyota involved remained at the scene. The road outside the school was closed, and police tape was placed around the pedestrian crossing as an investigation into the incident began.
